The Kiwanis 5K Run/Walk for Kids’ Sake is a meaningful community event that brings people together around a shared mission: supporting children and helping them reach their full potential. Designed for participants of all ages and abilities, this event offers an opportunity to stay active while making a lasting impact in the lives of young people.
Whether you are an experienced runner, a casual walker, or simply someone who wants to support a good cause, the Kiwanis 5K provides a welcoming environment where everyone can take part. It’s not about competition—it’s about community, generosity, and investing in the future.
Supporting Children & Youth
At the heart of the Kiwanis 5K Run/Walk for Kids’ Sake is a commitment to children. A portion of the proceeds from the event go toward programs and organizations that serve young people in critical ways, helping meet both immediate needs and long-term goals.
This includes support for initiatives such as the Riley Children’s Foundation, which provides vital healthcare resources for children, and Kiwanis B.U.G. (Bring Up Grades), a program that encourages students to improve academically and build confidence in their abilities.
Through efforts like these, the event helps create opportunities for children to grow, succeed, and feel supported by their community.
More Than a Race
While the event centers around a 5K run/walk, its purpose extends far beyond the course. The Kiwanis 5K is a celebration of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared vision of service.
Participants often include families, friends, local organizations, and individuals who simply want to give back. The atmosphere is encouraging and inclusive, making it a great experience for first-time participants as well as those who return year after year.
It’s a time to connect, to serve, and to be reminded that even small actions—like showing up and participating—can make a meaningful difference.
